An important part of transition planning is identifying services the student can use while in school and those that will be needed after graduation. This is a timeline to help organize information regarding these services: when to apply, eligibility, available resources.

STEPSS Student Internships & Volunteer Opportunities

Our partnerships with local businesses and organizations allow students to connect with their community and contribute through internships and volunteering.

Internships: Students accumulate experience and develop skills for employment while working in local businesses. Some of our partnerships include:

  • Best of Everything

  • Green Way Market

  • Ridgewood DPW

  • Greens Do Good Hydroponic Farm

  • Backyard Living

  • Ridgewood YMCA

  • IT Department - Hope Christian Services

  • Playa Bowls

  • Staples

  • P. Smith Design

Volunteering: Students use their talents for a good cause and feel a sense of pride and accomplishment. Some examples include:

  • Designing and distributing flyers 

  • Maintaining social media & websites for businesses 

  • Creating an online database for local service providers

  • Taking inventory of items 

  • Organizing donations

  • Setting up and running events

  • Creating materials for "Sensory Friendly Dinners" in local restaurants
